How To Prepare Black Pepper to Reduce Microplastics Exposure

When you can, for certain spices like black pepper, it is best to get the whole versions and not the pre-ground. Even when whole, however, they do still go through some processing, which could result in dust and other microplastics to make it into the packaging in addition to the whole peppercorns.

Here’s what you can do to remove as much of this dust/microplastics as you can prior to consumption:
